She has been head cheerleader and May Queen and comes from a well-to-do family that we never see. He mother suffers from Epstein-Barr Syndrome and her fathers dubious business management eventually leads to the families financial ruin. Cordy was born to be popular - it's not only her right, but her responsibility - but she finds herself inexplicably drawn into the slayers circle of "loser" friends where she occasionally lends a hand to fight evil and briefly finds romance with Xander.
