Sonic on Mega Drive/Genesis Sonic on Mega CD/Sega CD

This was the platform that shot Sonic to success. It was the console that allowed Sonic to reach the speeds he is famous for. The best games were the 2D platformers. Sonic Spinball offered a different style of play as did Sonic 3D - easily one of the most impressive Mega Drive titles taking Sonic into the 3rd dimension (sort of).

The under exploited Mega CD was home to Sonic CD - a cult classic. Sporting differences in style the game is slightly out of synch but nevertheless is an excellent game featuring some great CD audio, tons of levels and the first appearance of Amy, Sonic's then girlfriend.
